I used Carons Simply Soft in black on size 7 needles.
Cast on 40
Knit first 2 rows.
Start of pattern
R1-Knit
R2-k2, purl until remaining 2, knit last 2 stitches
R3-k2, *k3, yo k 3 times, k2tog 6times, yo k 3 times, k3* repeat from * 1 more time, k last 2 stitches
R4-knit
Repeat pattern until desired length ending with row 4. Knit 2 more rows. Bind off and weave in ends.
